Meet Shawn

Integrative Yoga Instructor | Healer | Nature Lover | Lifelong Learner

Shawn’s journey with yoga began over 30 years ago, drawn by the need to heal the body and mind. Decades of yoga practice, a deep connection to nature, and an ongoing commitment to self-discovery - alongside the transformative work of overcoming childhood trauma, addiction, and the challenges of CPTSD - have shaped his approach to healing and teaching. His work has combined movement, mindfulness, and ancient wisdom, drawing from Hindu, Celtic, Buddhist, and Jungian traditions, offering safe and supportive spaces to cultivate inner balance, healing, clarity, and a deeper sense of purpose.

Credentials & Training
  • 200-hour Anusara Yoga Certification
    Studied and mentored with nationally recognized Anusara teachers.
  • 200-hour TriYoga Teacher Training (In Progress)
    Specializing in breath-led movement, spinal waves, and meditative flow.
  • Trauma Recovery Yoga (TRY) and trauma awareness trainings
    Integration of trauma sensitive practices.
  • Jungian Psychology
    Focusing on archetypes, shadow work, and integration.
  • Ecopsychology & Nature-Based Healing
    Trainings in nature-based healing practices, grounded in the rhythms of the natural world.
  • Pranayama (Breath and Energy Work)
    Extensive training in breath and energy techniques
  • Sound Healing
    Years of vocal training and sound healing techniques
  • TCTSY Practitioner
    Ongoing participant in the Trauma Center’s Trauma-Sensitive Yoga program, founded by Bessel Van Der Kolk (author of The Body Keeps the Score)
  • Three year yoga mentorship
    Extensive work integrating and refining various philosophies of yoga, breathwork, trauma recovery and self discovery, this mentorship provided clarity and direction in the continued development of a holistic approach to teaching and healing.
Teaching Philosophy

Shawn is committed to the belief that true well-being comes from alignment with the body, our unique identity and the inherent potential that resides in all of us. This alignment is about integrating the different parts of ourselves: the physical body, the ego-self, shaped by our experiences, and the higher witness-self that offers clarity and guidance. By bringing all of these into balance, we unlock our full potential for healing, growth and purpose. His teaching has offered a blend of accessible movement, breathwork, and mindfulness designed to foster strength, resilience, self-awareness, and authenticity. Drawing from ancient physical practices, mythological teachings, and seasonal rhythms, his approach supports transformation, healing, and growth.

Whether it was someone’s first time on the mat or they had been practicing for decades, this work created space to authentically connect with the self and the deeper currents of life. It supported growth, resilience, and a path of healing that cultivates strength, clarity and purpose - all while moving toward deeper awareness and genuine peace.
